The first transfer portal pickup for the Arizona women's basketball team is a former McDonald's All-American.Â
Former Cal point guard Aliyahna "Puff" Morris committed to the Wildcats Friday evening, she announced on Instagram.Â
California guard Aliyahna Morris (25) dribbles the ball in the first quarter against USC on Dec. 21, 2025, in San Francisco.Â
Morris is the latest Wildcat with connections to the McDonald's All-American Game, joining Jada Williams, Breya Cunningham, Maya Nnaji and Cate Reese. Morris played in the McDonald's All-American game following her standout career at Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
Morris was teammates at Etiwanda with UA signee and shooting guard Arynn Finley, who was a four-star recruit and former Florida signee. Finley signed with Arizona's 2026 recruiting class in March.Â
Morris, a 5-5 point guard, finished her Etiwanda career with the third-most points in school history (1,750) and the second-most made 3-pointers (294). In her lone season at Cal, she averaged seven points and 3.1 assists per game.

Morris appeared in 26 games — starting 18 of them — as a true freshman. Morris' most notable performance was in November, when she recorded 17 points and six assists in Cal's win over Charlotte. Â
The addition of Morris means the Wildcats currently have five players on the 2026-27 roster: Morris, Finley, returning guards Sumayah Sugapong and Molly Ladwig and center Callie Hinder, who joined the team in January.
Arizona had six players enter the transfer portal since the season ended, including guards Tanyuel Welch, Kamryn Kitchen and Mireia Jurado, and forwards Blessing Adebanjo and Daniah Trammell, and center Achol Magot. UA small forward Montaya Dew, the highest-rated recruit in program history, medically retired last month.Â
For a second straight season, head coach Becky Burke's Arizona team will have a plethora of new players.Â
