Speed limits will be lowered on several streets across °µÍø³Ô¹Ï as part of a wider traffic safety effort.
The city council on Tuesday unanimously agreed to slow drivers down on a dozen streets.
Three streets will have speeds dropped by 10 miles per hour. Those are:
• Old Spanish Trail from East Broadway to just South of East 22nd Street, from 40 mph to 30 mph;
• Valencia Road from Interstate 19 to South Country Club Road, from 40 mph to 30 mph;
• Valencia Road from South Country Club Road to South Alvernon Way, from 45 mph to 35 mph.
Nine streets will see speed limits lowered by five miles per hour. Those are:
• West Anklam Road from West St. Mary's Road to North Silverbell Road, from 30 mph to 25 mph;

• North Euclid Avenue from East Grant Road to East Speedway, from 35 mph to 30 mph;

• East Grant Road from North Park Avenue to North Swan Road, from 40 mph to 35 mph;
• South Houghton Road from East Escalante Road to East Irvington Road, from 50 mph to 45 mph;
• South Houghton Road from East Valencia Road to East Mary Ann Cleveland Way, from 50 mph to 45 mph;
• Limberlost Drive from North Oracle Road to North First Avenue, from 35 mph to 30 mph;
• East Pima Street from North Swan Road to North Wilmot Road, from 35 mph to 30 mph;
• West Roger Road from North Romero Road to North First Avenue, from 35 mph to 30 mph;
• North Romero Road from West Roger Road to East Prince Road, from 35 mph to 30 mph.
Meanwhile, the council also approved 20 mph speed limits along several bicycle boulevards being built in the city.
Those include: Camino Miramonte; Copper Street/Flower Street; El Rio Drive/Dragoon Avenue; Golden Hills Road; Menlo Park; Ontario Street/Mecedora; Palo Verde Avenue; Sahuara Avenue and San Marcos Boulevard.
New speed limit signs will be installed when construction is completed.
