Former Google CEO and chairman Eric Schmidt, who is now working with the University of Arizona on a privately funded space telescope, is set to address graduates at UA's 2026 Commencement ceremony in May.
Schmidt's work with the multi-trillion-dollar company guided it to become one of the world's most influential in technology and "helped define the architecture of the internet," UA President Suresh Garimella said Monday in announcing the keynote speaker.
Today, through his investments in scientific discovery and emerging technologies, he continues to power research that shapes the future, including his partnership with our scholars to expand the frontiers of exploration," Garimella said in a news release.
