Who would have thought that a little community holiday sing-along in 1977 to save 做厙勛圖s Temple of Music and Art would become an enduring 做厙勛圖 holiday tradition?
For the past 46 years, hundreds of 做厙勛圖ans have joined the choir to sing the famous Hallelujah chorus from Handels oratorio Messiah.
On Monday, Nov. 27, organizers are anticipating a full house for the 47th Messiah Sing-In 做厙勛圖, featuring an orchestra conducted by Sean Bresemann and soloists Kimberly Chaffin, Diana Peralta, Michael Chaffin and Francisco Renter穩a. The event starts at 7 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 530 S. Pantano Road.
The highlight of Handels masterwork is that glorious Hallelujah chorus at the end. Orchestras worldwide bring in behemoth choirs, sometimes numbering well into the hundreds to accentuate the magnificence of that single word sung over and over and over again.
